Kingsley Constable V2 Custom JCM800 Tube Overdrive/Preamp Pedal that uses two 12AX7 tubes running at 270VDC to get the most authentic valve tone out of its hand wired circuit.

Overview
The Constable 800 has all the same controls as a Marshall Master Volume 2203 or 2204
amplifier. It also has additional controls to make it very versatile for both front of amp
and preamplifier use. As well as the usual control set, it features a second pair of Volume
and Master controls, making it a channel switching preamp, plus a bright switch that can
be turned on or off for either channel. An output mode switch selects front of amp or
preamp use.
Note that while the Constable 800 has two footswitchable channels, it does not feature
the much lower gain and cleaner “Low” sensitivity input of the Marshall amp. However,
if the user wants cleaner or warmer tones these can easily be achieved on either channel
with the expanded feature set.

Features
Volume 1 and Volume 2 set the preamp gain for each channel. Note that on a Marshall
2203 or 2204 this control is labeled “preamp volume”.
Master A and Master B set the output volume for each channel. Note that Master B is
located on the back panel on the left.
Treble, Middle and Bass are as expected and are active for both channels.
There is a presence control on the back right of the pedal (this control is unlabeled).
On a typical tube amp (including Marshall amps) the presence control is actually
part of the power amp and not part of the preamp. The addition of a presence type tone
control on this version of the Constable is useful for fine tuning the overall brightness of
the sound, especially as results can vary quite a lot depending on what the Constable is
run into (different power amps, the front end of different guitar amps, cabinet simulators
etc). This presence control can be turned on or off when the Constable.
